Chocolate and Peanut Butter--A Match Made in Heaven!

With the cool spell we have been enjoying here this week, my teenage son agreed that is was a good time for me to do some baking. It is true that teenage boys eat quite a bit, and sometimes mine is finding it hard to fill that empty spot. Winnie the Pooh could do it with honey; my son needs something more substantial but still sweet.
When I started contemplating all the options for recipes, peanut butter chips tapped me on the shoulder. Then they started banging me on the head (so subtle!). If you haven't seen them, peanut butter chips look like chocolate chips, only peanut butter flavored. Basically the tastiest little blobs of fat and sugar ever to be flavored with peanut butter!
I did a search on Google, and came upon a website called "Evil Shenanigans." (From the name, I have a feeling this is going to be a place I return to more than once.)

What I found there was a recipe for
Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip
Bundt Cake
.

Perfect.

Here is the result:

Now see the cake right before it hits your mouth, and it's rich, choco-peanut-butter goodness caresses your tongue, and this morsel melds with you at a molecular level to become a part of you forever:

Now you know why the blog is called Evil Shenanigans.

Bacon Cheeseburger Chicken or "What a Way to Go!"

I was web-surfing the other day, and I came across this recipe for
Bacon Cheeseburger Chicken. It looked good, so I printed it.

We made it tonight.

Amazingly delicious.

So simple.

Could have eaten the whole thing myself.

I didn't.

We managed to save the leftovers, and I even have a picture for you.

If you even remotely like the ingredients on their own, go to
Kevin and Amanda's Recipes
and get yourself this recipe...
juicy, delicious recipe.

You'll see what I mean. You'll be planning when you can
make it again before you even finish what is in your plate.
You might even be plotting where you can hide the leftovers
so no one else can find them in the fridge.

I might need a twelve-step program for this.
I won't be there alone.
Hubby will be with me too.

Wait...
he offered to put away the leftovers...
wonder where the chicken went?

Sunset Salad Tilda

I suppose that is an odd name for a post, but I am sharing a recipe card for one of our favorite warm weather recipes, and it seems as though Tilda likes it too!

I am looking forward to participating in my first recipe card swap, so I thought I would try one ahead of time. "Sweet Tilda" from Magnolia-licious is colored in Prismacolor pencils. All the flowers except for the large white daisy are made with various punches I have, and the little flowers all have glitter centers. I typed the recipe in the computer...I used the "Beaches" font.
Yellow ribbon makes the bow, and the orange background papers are from the "Ambrosia" 6-inch square paper pad by Basic Grey.

Try out this recipe, especially if you want to get a little extra fruits and veggies into your kids!
My kids are all grown up, but they still love this salad.

Tomorrow, I am planning to share my Week 49- Just Magnolia card. Please come back and take a look! I really appreciate all your encouraging comments!

A Lenten Recipe

On the solemn occasion of Good Friday, I am sharing a traditional Italian recipe from my mother's family. They were originally from Naples. This is an Italian mac and cheese, which we would have during Lent. My family finds it a simple meal for this day.

Pastira

1-1/4 lbs perciatelli pasta or spaghetti, cooked (in the picture, I used perciatelli--it is a hollow sort of spaghetti)
6 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1 cup Parmesan cheese
8 oz. shredded mozzarella
1 lb. ricotta
1/4 tsp. black pepper

Combine all ingredients in a greased 9" x 13" casserole dish. Bake covered at 375 degrees F for 40 minute, then uncover and bake 10-20 minutes more. Cool 10 minutes, and cut into squares.
Also very good as a cold leftover.
