Calm Seas

Happy Monday!
I had a beautiful Mother's Day, spoiled rotten by the kids and the hubby! I hope all the other moms out there were just as fortunate!
Today I have the chance to share a card That I made as a submission. It wasn't chosen for the magazine, but now I am free to share it. I will also be entering it in the Cute Card Thursday "Boyz-to-Men" challenge this week.

Edwin is colored with Prismacolor pencils, and the background paper came with that wonderful compass and map pre-printed! I used brass grommets in the 4 corners and knotted some twine into them. the card itself is kraft cardstock, as is the cardstock that the Stampin Up! sentiment is stamped on. Edges are inked and distressed, and I've added some sea shells collected on our annual summer trip to Maine...there is even a whole sand dollar! Edwin is standing in some real Maine beach sand (if you know Maine, there aren't many sandy beaches...mostly rocky shores!)
I really had great fun making this card...I hope you like it!
